This mask life isn’t anything new for me, y’all. I take this pandemic seriously. However, it’s important to join the voices to share the importance of wearing face coverings. With our call to love our neighbors, live this out by wearing a mask. It’s a simple step that can make a big difference in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Before I move forward, I want to lift up an amazing designer; she was kind enough to pass along one of her fabulous masks. Her name is Cynthia Lawson. She goes by @2chicdesigns on Instagram. I’ve been wearing her design, and I hope she can help you out, too.
Our society makes it easy to keep things self-centered. I challenge you to move away from that way of thinking. Look around, COVID-19 is taking lives. Loved ones are passing away alone. Families are forced to grieve in isolation. For people who have survived, they, too, share the lasting impacts of this virus.
Do it the right way
Skip over your discomfort or what you consider to be an inconvenience. Instead, look at the lives lost. Then, consider the many more lives that will be lost if we don’t confront this virus together.
The CDC has some helpful guidance on why it’s important to wear a mask and how to safely wear face coverings. Here are a few quick reminders:
• Make sure you’re covering your mouth and nose; secure your face covering under your chin.
• Aim to have your mask fit snugly around the sides of your face.
• Wash your face covering after each use.
Don’t let your mask be your only defense, though. Continue to practice social distancing and wash your hands often. A small gathering or a night out with friends is not worth the weight of potentially getting the virus or unknowingly passing it along to others.
I understand that we’re tired. Hold on a little longer, please.
Fashion your mask
For me, a mask is another accessory. I’m going to make this thing work, y’all. What are you doing? Let me know in the comments section.
• Do you have multiple masks?
• Do you have certain masks for different occasions?
• Have you bought masks to match an outfit?
• Do you have friends who make masks?

I do have a friend who made masks for me and my family which I love and CHERISH so much.
I wish everyone would do their part stop slow down the coronavirus and wear a mask!
This isn’t about our civil liberties to decide not to wear a mask, but our civic duty to wear one as americans!
