It’s fall, y’all! I’m already in love with the cooler temperatures, and we can’t forget the official arrival of fall: all things pumpkin spice. From the warm colors to warm beverages, fall has become one of my favorite seasons.
Fall is also a great time to think about the next steps for your wardrobe — and your lifestyle. For me, this means doing things that help me fall back, regroup, and plan for a successful end of the year.
Here are three things that are on my fall back checklist:
Free up some hangers
Do you have any free hangers? If not, it may be time for some one-on-one time with your closet. As you take a look at clothing and accessories, be committed and ask yourself two questions: “When was the last time I wore this piece of clothing?” and “How does this piece of clothing make me feel?”
If it takes you a few moments to answer these questions, it’s time to free up some hangers. Stop holding on to pieces that are taking up valuable real estate in your closet. Free up hangers for pieces that are go-to items to fit your mood and make you feel fabulous.
Free up some time
Pause for a moment. When was the last time you had a moment for self-care or time to check in on your friends? Be careful not to burn yourself out as you anticipate a break during the holidays. Remember, you want to enjoy the holiday season with your family — not be exhausted.
Free up some time to finally schedule that mammogram. Free up some time to catch up on your favorite show, or grab dinner with your friends. Trust me, I know that there are always things that need to be done. Isn’t free time important, too?
Free up your wallet and purse
How’s your purse feeling? If it’s weighing you down, lighten up! Take some time to go through your purse and wallet.
Throw away old makeup items that can be harmful to your skin and overall health. You wouldn’t believe the shelf life on some of our favorite products.
Gather loose change and bills, and put them back in their proper place. It’s always helpful to have everything in one spot in your purse.
Check your license and other cards to make sure everything is up to date. Has anything expired? Is it time to order a new debit card?
It’s amazing how fast the year can pass. Don’t forget to do a check-in on all aspects of your life — from your closet to your closest friends.
