Hit the pause button: The power of photography

January 28, 2018 By hautegreyfox

If you follow me on Instagram (@hautegreyfox), it’s pretty easy to see how much I love photography. I take photos as much as I can, and I’ll use my phone or my professional camera to capture moments — from silly to serious. There are moments that were captured intentionally or candidly, but all of the images have something powerful in common: memories.

A photo is a visual representation of a moment in time. It’s like hitting the rewind button on the film of life and stopping at various points. While you don’t know the length of the total film, only the Lord does, you have the privilege of reflecting on what’s happened thus far.

For some people, they remember the temperature of the day. Another person may remember how they felt when the photo was taken. A photo can bring laughter or tears. It can bring chills or butterflies.

If there’s one thing that I have learned, it is that life slows down for no one. Throughout the journey there are some hard times, and there are some amazing times. It is important to see the beauty of both sides.

As I hit the rewind button on 2017, I chose to see the beauty in each moment that I was allowed to capture. What about you? Here are my top photos from 2017.

These images are stunning! Everything you said is so true. Images are a look back into time and that time brings great emotion! Great job and great read!

Stephanie this is a beautiful reminder of the moments captured in a photo.
You have taken some beautiful moments captions from 3017. May your moments continue to remind you of the
Phenomenal Woman that you have become each day!
