Have you taken a look at all of the amazing blogs written by fabulously talented and passionate women? It’s hard to miss the beautiful, vibrant photos helping us relive travel excursions, head-to-toe fashion moments, lifestyle and wellness goals, and more. Even better – the ladies who own these blogs are daring and authentic, and they are leading the way.
Well, all of this talent exists in a growing community. Have you ever considered that we have the opportunity to show the world that community can exist when it seems like competition is the only response?
Not too long ago, I imagined what it would be like to join a community of women who were shaping the conversation on topics that were most important to them. Then I wondered, “Are there already enough female bloggers? Would I be welcomed? How would I even get started?”
I’m glad I only thought about these questions for a few moments because I’m excited to say that I have found this community! Sadly, there’s a belief that women cannot work and thrive in the same space without bringing drama. I beg to differ. When I see my sisters succeed, I’m motivated even more. They have shined the light for me at the end of the tunnel, reminding me to be persistent. They are leaving footprints for me when I take a detour on a path. They are making it easier for the next generation of strong voices.
Before I am a Haute Grey Fox, I am a woman. I join my other sisters who use stories and visuals to share with the world a bit more about their unique journey. Collectively, we are a strong force. We have voices with great value, and the world is listening.
If you’re in the blogging world, how do you respond when another blogger secures a big partnership – maybe one that you feel you deserve? What about when another blogger has an amazing year, perhaps much better than yours?
Well, consider this perspective: community over competition. We are all working our hardest, often on top of another full-time job, to tell the world about things that mean so much to us. Embrace the fact that you are not alone in this hustle. Take joy in knowing that women are boldly going after bigger and better things.
With our individual voices, let’s sing a beautiful song in 2019.
